THIS DAY IN BILLS HISTORY
October 5, 1980 — BILLS UPSET CHARGERS, IMPROVE TO 5-0
The Bills rallied for 14 points in the fourth quarter to upset the Chargers 26-24 in San Diego in a battle of unbeatens. Detroit’s loss to Atlanta that day left the Bills as the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
GM Buddy Nix(via WGR550 10/5/12)
On his confidence that the leaders on the team will keep things from going wrong:
“We are very confident in the guys we have. We are a little bit young as far as some of the leaders, but that is not excuse. Good teams win with young guys if they are talented enough. We expect our guys to step up there and I think they will this week. It is a tough task. We are playing what I think is one of the best teams in the league at their place and us 2,000 miles away from home or further. It is going to be a tough test, but we expect to rise to the occasion.”
