Bills head coach Chan Gailey said after Sunday’s game that quarterback was not position with an issue when questioned about it following the blowout loss to San Francisco. He explained why that’s the case as he sees it.
When asked in his weekly appearance on WGR Sportsradio 550 about why he has faith in Fitzpatrick as his quarterback this was his response.
“Because I’ve seen the guy play well and win games,” said Gailey. “You have too. Everybody has seen him do that and you know he can do it.”
With Fitzpatrick’s completion percentage at 58.3 percent thus far this season and ranking 25th in the league, Gailey was asked if his quarterback’s play has regressed.
“A lot of factors go into all of that stuff,” said Gailey. “When you start talking about not having the receivers sometimes or people not doing the right thing or just different factors that go into it. That’s not an issue guys. It’s not an issue.”
Gailey did say he intended to sit down with Fitzpatrick to make sure his confidence is intact saying with quarterback such a critical position he has to know that his signal caller’s mindset is still strong.
