Merriman likely to be active Sunday

Shawne Merriman is going to spend a good amount of time on the scout team Wednesday as he gets back into playing shape, but head coach Chan Gailey hinted that there’s a good chance the defensive end is dressed for Sunday’s game.

“Probably,” said Gailey when asked if Merriman would be active. “But don’t hold me to that just yet. As long as he’s in playing shape and everything goes well this week and he gets back into the flow of things. He’s probably going to be right there on Sunday giving us some help.”
