Spiller getting Pro Bowl consideration

Posted by Chris Brown on October 24, 2012 – 10:10 am

Bills RB C.J. Spiller is already getting some Pro Bowl consideration in light of the start he’s off to in this 2012 season.

Pro Football Focus, which crunches the numbers and closely grades every player’s performance, currently has Spiller as the top tailback among the three they’ve chosen to represent the AFC. Here’s what they wrote about the running backs.

Halfbacks: C.J. Spiller (BUF), Ray Rice (BLT) and Willis McGahee (DEN)
He came into the year as the second choice halfback on his own team, and is currently our starting AFC tailback. After a couple of sub-par games recovering from his injury in Cleveland, Spiller’s now looking back to his early-season best. It was a close call in the end between Arian Foster (HST) and McGahee. It came down to Foster’s appalling, league-worst, pass protection (one sack, three hits and seven hurries allowed) and his failure to generate anything as a receiver.

Spiller is currently fifth in the AFC in rushing and leads all running backs in yards per carry average (7.3). Voting for the Pro Bowl is already open at NFL.com where you can vote for Spiller or any other Bills player you feel is worthy.
