Gilmore returns to his Gamecock roots

Bills First Round Draft pick Stephon Gilmore tells us he was on the sidelines Saturday, watching his alma mater, South Carolina play Tennessee.

It was the rookie CB’s first visit home since the Bills season began.  Gilmore took advantage of the four-day break for the bye week to visit his old college and take in a game.

Unfortunately, he also had a front row seat for the devastating injury suffered by South Carolina RB Marcus Lattimore in the second quarter of the game.  Lattimore, one of the best running backs in college football, suffered a dislocated knee and damaged knee ligaments, and will require more than a year of recovery.  He may not ever return to football.

Gilmore told us he visited Lattimore in the hospital Saturday night to cheer up his friend.  We’ll find out more about it tonight at 7:20pm, when Stephon Gilmore joins us in studio for The John Murphy Show.
