THIS DAY IN BILLS HISTORY
November 9, 1986 LEVY GETS HIS FIRST WIN
Marv Levy was a winner in his Bills’ head coaching debut as Buffalo downed the Pittsburgh Steelers at home, 16-12, in the wind. The Bills rushed for 172 yards.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
GM Buddy Nix (via WGR550 11/9/12)
Q: When it comes to giving up the farm for a quarterback, the Jets did it for QB Mark Sanchez a couple of years ago moving up to sixth. The Redskins did it for QB Robert Griffin III last year. You have said in years past and I think you joked one year ‘They should give us two picks in the first round,’ because you needed so many things. Do you assess your team as needing fewer things this year? Not saying you are going to do it, but are you in better position than years past if there was a guy that you had to go get?
A: Absolutely. I think we have had pass rush issues obviously. A lot of those things it is going to take some time to work out, but we have people in place. We have corners in place. We have a left tackle in place. All of those things are huge priorities so you can just line up without getting somebody hurt. So yeah, we are a lot further along. I know it maybe does not show up on Sunday every time, but I know we are.
