Why Gailey remains optimistic

The Bills have now lost three straight and are admittedly fast slipping out of the AFC playoff race, but head coach Chan Gailey is resolute in his optimism for the back half of the schedule.

“I look back at the last two games. To me we’ve played probably the best two teams in the AFC the last two weeks and we played with them,” said Gailey. “We moved the ball on Houston, we didn’t score touchdowns and that was the killer there. We didn’t score touchdowns. I thought the second half of last week we played a lot better defensively. We moved the football.

“I think that our football team has played fairly well. We didn’t win, but we played fairly well against two of the best teams in the AFC. I think if we’ll continue to get better, if we don’t then it won’t matter that we played better against those two teams. So if we’ll continue to get better that should help us with the future and the rest of our schedule.”
