QUOTE OF THE DAY
GM Buddy Nix
Q: Talk about S Jairus Byrd and the role he has. Clearly he is one of the best playmakers on your team, not just your defense, your overall football team. Where do you think he ranks in terms of playmaking safeties right now?
A: Well I do not know how he ranks with everybody else, but I know he is not one we would want to swap for somebody else. He is a reckless guy, he is smart, he is a guy that knows football and again he is a guy that was raised in a football family. He has been around it all of his life and he knows how it works. The interception he made (against Miami), and you look back at the games we have won that were close—he has come through with a big play for us. That is what you have to have back there and we knew from his rookie year he was capable of that. He has started to do it on a consistent basis. I think he ranks really high and he is a really good one for us.
