Hairston likely headed to surgery

Bills OT Chris Hairston, who was placed on injured reserve Thursday, is likely headed to surgery for his ankle injury.

“It was one of those where they said it was a situation where he’s going to probably need surgery,” said head coach Chan Gailey of the decision to put Hairston on I-R. “They could’ve done something and maybe got him back for the last game, but it probably wouldn’t have happened that way.”

Gailey explained what Hairston needs repaired.

“It was an ankle. It was not ligament involved. It’s all bone,” he said. ”Somehow there’s a loose body in there that they have to take care of.”
