Rice, Bryant still hobbled for Seahawks
Posted by on December 14, 2012 – 9:38 amThe Seahawks are still hoping that starting DL Red Bryant and top WR Sidney Rice can get on the practice field today after missing their second straight day of work on Thursday due to a lingering foot injury.
Rice was out of his walking boot on Thursday, but still wasn’t practicing according to Seahawks.com. Starting S Kam Chancellor also did not practice along with starting CB Walter Thurmond due to a hamstring injury suffered in Wednesday’s practice.
Thurmond, who is already starting in place of the suspended Brandon Browner, was replaced by rookie CB Jeremy Lane and second-year CB Byron Maxwell who split reps at the position.
Already without the aforementioned Browner, losing Thurmond for Sunday’s game would stretch the Seahawks cornerback contingent awfully thin, knowing veteran CB Marcus Trufant has also missed two days of practice with a hamstring injury.
At this point the only healthy cornerbacks for Seattle right now are starter Richard Sherman, two rookies Lane and DeShawn Shead, a pair of second-year CBs Maxwell and Ron Parker.
If Thurmond and Trufant can’t go on Sunday it would leave Seattle without three of their top four cornerbacks.
