Bills CB Leodis McKelvin, who went on injured reserve Thursday with a groin injury, apparently has a problem that will require repair through surgery.
That according to Bills head coach Chan Gailey.
“I think eventually he’s going to require some sort of procedure,” said Gailey. “He’s going to need something done. So it was bad enough where we said, ‘Don’t play and let’s get that done.’”
For Buffalo’s return game it’s a blow to the unit. McKelvin is leading the league in punt return average (18.7) and is the only punt returner with a pair of returns for touchdowns this season.
“It was shaping up to be one of the better ones in a long, long time,” said Gailey of McKelvin’s season. “You miss a guy like that, you really do.”
