Mario Williams was just one of several players that was at a loss in finding answers to the team’s play Sunday at Miami.
“I just feel like it’s one of those things where you can’t even put your finger on one thing at this point,” he said. “It was another put up and shut up and go out and play ball and try to win the game. We go out and have a game full of penalties. Missed tackles here and there. They hit us that one time with the read (option) where we had three chances to get (Tannehill) on that sideline and he took it all the way down and pretty much scored.”
Williams didn’t doubt for a second that his teammates played hard, but he doesn’t believe that’s enough.
“I know we were out there scratching,” he said. “With the way things were going I can’t really understand how everything is unfolding like this. We definitely went out there and played our hardest and tried to get it done. For the situations that occur having guys here and there out of place, you’ve got to finish. You play hard, but you’ve got to finish. Playing hard only goes so hard and after that it’s finishing and making a play and that’s something we obviously didn’t do.”
