A lot of Bills players and head coach Chan Gailey have been asked if this team has made progress from last season. To a man they believe they’re a better team with more depth of talent. At the same time they know that claim doesn’t hold much water if they don’t have wins to back it up.
“You see progress in the win-loss column,” said George Wilson. “You can’t just say we’re headed in the right direction and then continue to be deficient. We have to get it done in the win-loss column. That’s how we’re judged. We’re judged off wins and losses and our productivity. That’s the nature of the business.
“You can’t come out here and lay eggs on Sunday, especially when you have a good week of practice and preparation. This game boils down to execution on game day, and the various situations that arise during the course of the game. They handled the situations better than we did.”
