Inside The Bills

Thursday’s John Murphy Show

Posted by johnmurphyshow on December 27, 2012 – 5:20 pm

There’s always a lot of drama around the NY Jets these days, and this week is no exception.  The Jets are going with Mark Sanchez at quarterback Sunday against the Bills.  Longtime Special Teams Coach Mike Westhoff has announced that Sunday’s game in Orchard Park is his last in the NFL.  And there’s a report that Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum will be replaced after the Bills game Sunday.

Whew.

Tonight on The John Murphy Show, we’ve got our friend Kim Jones of the NFL Network and NFL.com on the show tonight to help us sort through the Jets news.  She’ll be on the air with us at 720pm.

At 8pm, we’re really looking forward to talking with author Mark Ribowsky about his book “Howard Cosell-The Man, the Myth, and the Transformation of American Sports.”   Ribowsky has written a great biography that details Cosell’s work on Monday Night Football, and he spends a lot of time exploring the relationship between the sportscaster and boxing’s Muhammad Ali.

And it’s Bowl Week in college football, with games every night this week, and the BCS games next week.  Our pal Josh Norris of Rotoworld.com will be on the air with us at 820pm to give us an idea of which prospects to keep an eye on in the glut of college bowl games over the next couple of weeks.

As usual, we’ll have time for phone calls from fans.

The John Murphy Show airs weeknights from 7-9pm on the flagship station of the Bills, WGR Sportsradio 550.
