Stevie’s preference moving forward
Posted by on December 30, 2012 – 6:52 pmAfter posting his third-straight 1,000-yard season, Stevie Johnson took the opportunity at his postgame press conference to support the head coach under whom he had all three of his 1,000-yard receiving campaigns.
“I guess it’s personally reasons and as far as the playbook goes,” said Johnson when asked why he wants to keep playing under the current coaching staff. ”Me being an offensive player it’s a great offense and a great playbook to be playing under. The personal reason is the opportunity. Coach gave me an opportunity here and I don’t really have to elaborate on it too much because everybody knows. That’s why I want to keep those guys here and turn it around with them.”
When asked if he made a personal plea to the front office or ownership in that regard, Johnson said the following.
“No, this is my personal plea now,” he said. ”Hopefully they’re looking and listening and they’ll give this one more go.”
