DAILY REPORT

– USA Football has selected Buffalo Bills kick returner LEODIS McKELVIN as the return specialist on the 2012 USA Football All-Fundamentals Team, which honors 26 NFL players – 11 offense, 11 defense and four special teams – who exhibit exemplary football techniques for youth players to emulate.
Each player chosen for the All-Fundamentals Team will receive a $1,500 equipment grant from USA Football to donate to the youth or high school football program of his choice. USA Football, the sport’s national governing body in the United States, is the official youth football development partner of the Bills, the NFL and each of the league’s other 31 teams.
A fan vote will determine All-Fundamentals Team captains at www.facebook.com/usafootball. Fans may vote for one captain on offense, defense and special teams. USA Football will award each of the three captains a $3,000 equipment grant to donate and an All-Fundamentals Team helmet trophy. Voting is open through Jan. 21.
– Appearing Tuesday night on The John Murphy Show, Daryl “Moose” Johnston said Marrone will coach with an aggressive style when he takes over the Bills.
Johnston was a college teammate of Marrone’s at Syracuse University in the 1980s. Johnston spent his freshman and redshirt-freshman seasons watching Marrone act as one of the leaders of the Orange offensive line. And the former Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl fullback says Marrone will install an aggressive style for the Bills.
“I anticipate Doug to be an aggressive guy, I really do,” Johnston said Tuesday night, when he appeared on The John Murphy Show. “I expect him to be an aggressive guy down the field. I expect him to be aggressive with his special teams play. I would expect the coordinators to be that style—it’s not going to be a ‘bend but don’t break’ style on defense.”

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Saints QB Drew Brees on Bills Head Coach Doug Marrone
“I am thrilled for Doug and his family. I really enjoyed my time working with him when he was here with the Saints. Doug is a coach who deeply cares about his players. It was fun to watch him resurrect the program at his alma mater, Syracuse, and I know that the feeling in our organization was that he would have success doing that very quickly. This is a great opportunity for Doug and I can tell you that there are a lot of people here at the Saints that are proud to see him having earned this opportunity with the Bills.”
