Nix still has energy for the job
Posted by on February 23, 2013 – 7:31 pmWhile it was news Saturday when GM Buddy Nix, in his statement announcing a contract extension for Assistant GM Doug Whaley, admitted that his understudy will eventually replace him, he’s also gone on record saying he has no intention of hanging up film clicker any time soon.
“I think you’re maybe less than confident in what you do if you can’t put your replacement in place,” said Nix earlier this week. ”I was on the job three months when I hired Doug. Nothing has changed with him. My energy level hasn’t changed. I’m not going to do this until I’m 100. I promise you. I’d like to know I’ll be around until then. I’ll decide that and I’ll sit down with Russ (Brandon), but to put a timetable on it… I started something and I’d like to see it through.”
