Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o is trying to focus on football, as he makes his way through the NFL combine weekend. But Saturday afternoon, he spent 15-minutes answering questions from the media, about his controversial phony girlfriend, the internet hoax that he claimed victimized him last fall.
Te’o says he’s already met with the Packers and the Texans, with 18-more teams on his interview schedule this weekend in Indianapolis. He said the highly publicized hoax has been discussed with the teams.
“They all just want to hear from me what the truth was,” Te’o told the news conference. “They haven’t really said anything about it affecting me. Some guys just, we just briefly describe it for about thirty seconds, and the next 14-minutes is just all plays, and getting down to business. That’s how I prefer it to be.”
The Buffalo Bills have already said they’ve got Te’o on their list of 60-combine interviews this week in Indy.
