Report: Bills to place franchise tag on Byrd

The report hardly comes as a surprise. With just over three days before the deadline to make use of the franchise or transition tag on a prospective free agent, the Bills are reportedly going to make use of their franchise tag by placing it on Jairus Byrd.

That according to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter. The franchise tag for a safety is $6.916M.
