New Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians was interviewed by his team’s website this morning at the NFC coaches breakfast at the league owners meetings in Phoenix Wednesday and essentially reduced the likelihood of them taking a quarterback with the seventh overall pick, one ahead of the Bills.
When asked by AZCardinals.com if this was a tough year to be going into the draft needing a quarterback, Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians was succinct.
“I don’t feel we need one,” Arians said.
Arizona did just sign veteran free agent quarterback Drew Stanton, who will compete with John Skelton, Ryan Lindley and Brian Hoyer.
Obviously at this point in the pre-draft process it could be a smokescreen, but the Cardinals do have four quarterbacks in the stable and need offensive line help badly. The value at the top of the draft board fits the O-line need for Arizona.
