Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib’s name has been linked to the Buffalo Bills for months now, ever since his college coach, Doug Marrone, and offensive coordinator at SU, Nathaniel Hackett, came to the Bills.
A top analyst for NFL Films says Nassib is his number one prospect at quarterback in the NFL draft.
Greg Cosell, a Senior Producer for NFL Films for more than 30-years, and the creator of the popular “NFL Matchup” program, says Nassib grades out the highest of all the quarterback prospects. And appearing on The John Murphy Show Monday night, Cosell says arm strength is not a problem for Nassib.
“I think he has a live arm, not a power arm, but a live arm. And there’s a difference,” Cosell said. ” I’m a big believer in arm strength by the way. There are certain times you’ve got to make stick throws into tight windows, often in critical situations. So, I believe in arm strength. I don’t want my offense to always have to be manipulated, managed and controlled by the coach, in order for the quarterback to be successful.”
Cosell told host John Murphy that location and accuracy are Nassib’s strongest attributes, but when it comes time to fire a fastball, the Syracuse QB is capable.
“I think there are times you’ve got to drop back and make throws, I think Nassib can do that. Does he have an absolute gun? No. But I think his arm is strong enough to make the kind of throws that I just spoke about.”
