When some prognosticators raised the possibility of the Oakland Raiders drafting a quarterback with the third overall pick in the 2013 draft, some observers brushed it off. With the news about Carson Palmer’s contract situation, it could very well come to fruition.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Palmer is not expected to restructure his contract, which would presumably lead to his release.
Interesting: now “highly unlikely” Carson Palmer will be willing to restructure his contract meaning OAK pays him $13 million or cuts him.

If Palmer is released, it leaves Oakland with Terrelle Pryor as the main option at QB, but many believe if the Palmer release happens the Raiders will think long and hard about a quarterback even though they need help on the defensive side of the ball.
