After all the work that’s been put in by Buffalo’s scouting staff over hundreds of potential prospects, some players can run together and vividly remembering all of an individual’s best qualities and drawbacks can sometimes prove difficult. Here’s what Bills GM Buddy Nix and his staff do in the final days prior to the draft to address that.
“At each position at the end of the day there’s a highlighted list of five, six or seven players at that position that we’ll look at,” said Nix. “So we’ll spend, if we get through Monday or Tuesday, we’ll spend the next 48 hours going back so they’re fresh in your mind. It takes a while for all this stuff to come together to you, but it always does and the picture gets pretty clear by the end.”
