With Bills rookies having limited exposure to their playbooks entering the first practice of rookie minicamp there was not a ton of material installed. While that will change rather quickly when OTAs begin on Monday, for now the players are working hard to learn the schemes of the three phases.
“I think we had 15 plays or so. It wasn’t just for me,” said EJ Manuel. “It was for everybody. Everybody is trying to learn and get accustomed to get back playing football.”
Manuel, who has had his playbook since he was drafted said he’s been working on it, but has been pulled back by offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett for proper teaching.
“I can get used to what he wants us to do,” said Manuel of Hackett. “Get used to the footwork, get used to playing and throwing routes against the defense and things like that.”
