They were teammates for three years with the Houston Texans. Now, Bills DL Mario Williams finds Anthony Weaver as his coach. And Williams couldn’t be happier.
Williams and Weaver were teammates from 2006-08 with the Texans. And in an appearance on The John Murphy Show Wednesday night, Mario Williams says having Weaver as his coach will actually serve as motivation.
“It’s actually motivation,” Williams said. “I know when I played with him how he was, we called him the technician, because he was always technically sound. He always relied on his technique when he got tired. He just had that motor and got after it. I know what to expect because that’s how it was when I played with him. I feel like I can’t let him down.”
Willliams says he’s enjoying his new role in Mike Pettine’s Buffalo defense. It’s a role that lets him line up in a variety of spots. And Williams says he can’t say what his actual playing position is.
“I don’t have one,” Williams said. “I guess if I were to be labeled, they would label me as a defensive end because of my size. But I can honestly say I don’t have one (a position).”
