Good news as Jim Kelly kicked off his annual football camp at One Bills Drive. The Hall of Fame quarterback is cancer free following surgery June 7th to remove part of his jaw bone that contained the cancer.
“It’s a long process, but I found out great news on Wednesday,” Kelly said. ”I don’t have to go through radiation treatment and chemo, which is a blessing. From what I’ve been told everything that they did in surgery that if I had to do radiation or chemo it would put me way back.”
With the doctors at ECMC getting all the cancer removed during surgery Kelly will not need to undergo any radiation treatment at this time. He’ll continue to get checkups periodically as a precaution.
