Bills franchise player Jairus Byrd provided a look at the path he took as a young athlete to the NFL. Here’s a look at what he wrote for ESPN.
Byrd talked about being a multi-sport athlete early in his childhood and how his father, former NFL CB Gill Byrd, didn’t allow him and his brother to play football until age 11. The safety also went through a couple of moves from California to Wisconsin to Missouri during his formative years. Here’s his write up.
Byrd has still not signed his franchise tender from the Bills. After July 15th he and the Bills will not be able to complete a long term contract agreement until after the regular season.
