Bills RB C.J. Spiller, who is currently tending to his family in his native Florida, following the weekend shooting incident involving his grandfather, is not going to rejoin the team in time for Thursday’s preseason finale.
“C.J. has been excused and he’ll be back with the team on Sunday,” said head coach Doug Marrone.
Spiller was unlikely to play in the team’s last preseason game against Detroit anyway, especially after the minor scare in the Washington game when he was spiked on the knee.
The team is scheduled to practice on Sunday as they begin preparations for their Week 1 opponent New England.
