Bills QB EJ Manuel is not limited in any way physically coming off of knee surgery, which is why he got the green light to start Sunday. But head coach Doug Marrone in watching his rookie quarterback is convinced that Manuel is faster on his feet than he was prior to the knee injury. Here’s why.
“He’s actually looked a little bit faster and I think that’s because of the time off with the rest a little bit,” said Marrone. “The expression ‘fresh legs,’ we were able to see that. The trainers through the rehabilitation process worked him very hard because we wanted to make sure about that.”
Manuel’s teammates also believe their quarterback is faster.
“He’s faster than me, that’s all I know,” said Stevie Johnson, who runs in the mid-4.5s. “I don’t know what he looked like two weeks ago, but he’s faster than me.”
