The Bills have had faith in EJ Manuel’s abilities from the get go despite no hard evidence at the NFL level in the regular season. Those abilities were on display on Buffalo’s final drive, but his teammates all along expected him to come through.
“We had all the confidence in the world, with all the players we had on the field,” said Kraig Urbik. “We knew EJ could do it. We do that all the time in practice even in preseason, we have two minute drives all the time. I don’t know what it is about the tempo or whatever but we just seem to do well in two minute and it showed again (Sunday).”
When asked what Manuel was like in the huddle Urbik didn’t sound like he was describing a rookie.
“He’s cool and calm, confident in what he’s doing,” said Urbik. “He’s a leader. He gets in the huddle and gets us going. He’s been good out there.”
