Bills DL Mario Williams set a team record with 4.5 sacks on Sunday. As far as his defensive teammates were concerned, Williams performed just like they thought he would.
“It’s what we expected. A guy like that playing in a defense like this, it’s designed for him to just cut loose and use his athletic ability and use his strength and power to overwhelm offensive tackles,” said Marcell Dareus. “It’s nothing short of what I expected. I expect it the rest of the year as well.”
Dareus said despite his most productive game in a Bills uniform that Williams demeanor was no different on the sidelines.
“He was just the same old Mario. Nothing different,” said Dareus. “Never too overexcited. Just picking everybody up saying, ‘Let’s keep fighting and keep going hard.’ He’s just being regular old Mario and this is what we expected for him to do so it’s not a huge surprise.”
