Bills FS Jairus Byrd is still limited in practice due to his plantar fasciitis in both feet. He and coach Marrone both provided an update on his progress.
“I think every day there’s progress,” said Marrone with Byrd’s recovery. “It’s just a matter of time now to when it gets to that point where he’s going to be able to go out there. So I think we’re getting closer and closer. He’s working extremely hard. I’m really proud of the way he’s working with the younger players and the veteran players back there. Jairus is doing an excellent job. It’s like having an extra coach and I told him he’s too young to coach and we want to get him on the field.”
Byrd echoed a lot of Marrone’s comments on his improving health.
“It feels pretty good. It’s coming along,” said Byrd. “It’s just a process that just takes some time. It’s coming along. I’m encouraged.”
When asked how close he is to playing in a game again Byrd offered the following.
“I don’t know. It’s literally day to day,” he said. “I’m coming in day to day getting treatment and each night just doing the things they tell me to do to get it right. I’m encouraged by the progress.”
