For the most part they were well prepared for what the Jets have in their arsenal of blitz calls, but Eric Wood and Fred Jackson both admitted that the Jets threw some defensive looks at Buffalo that were tough to identify.
“You have to give them credit. They did things that are different (and) that’s their defense—create some confusion,” said Fred Jackson. “It worked for them on a couple of plays there. We have to get better at seeing those things and make the plays when we have the opportunity.”
“They did a pretty good job of stacking the box early and throwing a few different looks that gave us trouble identifying, but we didn’t execute well enough against it,” said Wood.
EJ Manuel was sacked eight times in the game, the most sacks surrendered by Buffalo in a game since giving up nine to Indianapolis on Dec. 11, 2000.
