It might not be quite like the NFL MVP type numbers he was putting up early in the 2011 season, but Fred Jackson has very quietly accumulated some impressive yardage totals through the first three weeks of the 2013 campaign.
Jackson currently ranks fifth in the AFC In total yards from scrimmage with 282. Even last week in a game where there wasn’t a lot of yardage posted by Buffalo’s offense, Jackson finished with 109 total yards. The production has not been lost on Bills head coach Doug Marrone.
“I think Fred has always been a very productive player and we’re getting a lot of production out of him right now. It’s just a matter of picking up the production around him. He’s doing a good job whether it be in protection, catching the ball underneath, running the football, so he’s doing a lot to help us on the offensive side.”
The Bills offensive co-captain is currently averaging 5.3 yards per carry, which is good for fifth in the league.
