Bills standout LB Kiko Alonso recorded 22 tackles during Sunday’s overtime loss to the Bengals, production that has him in the record books again:

-Alonso’s 22 tackles are the most in a single game by any player in the league through Week 6 (that’s 182 total games if you’re scoring at home).

-Colts LB Jerrell Freeman (43 total tackles) and San Diego S Eric Weddle (36) are the closest competitors left in the league to match or beat Alonso’s total (66) before the week officially ends at the conclusion of Monday Night Football.

-Alonso’s 22 tackles are the second-most recorded by a rookie since 2000 (Elias). Here are the top four:
MOST TACKLES IN A GAME BY A ROOKIE / SINCE 2000 SEASON
11/04/2007 Harris, David        NYJ vs WAS (OT)   24
10/13/2013 Alonso, Kiko         BUF vs CIN (OT)   22
11/13/2008 Mayo, Jerod          NE  vs NYJ (OT)   20
12/23/2007 Willis, Patrick      SF  vs TB         20

-And finally, the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month for September became the first Bills player with 22 or more tackles since Damien Covington in 1997.
