This week, the Buffalo Bills and Roswell Park Cancer Institute hosted a free Prostate Cancer Early Diagnosis Outreach Clinic in the Paul Maguire Club at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
The event, for the third consecutive year, helped encourage men to learn their own statistics such as family history which may have them at prostate cancer risk.
Doctors of Roswell Park Cancer Institute were on-site performing free screenings for men.
“This event drives home the idea that knowledge of your health is empowering,” says James Mohler, MD, Associate Director and Senior-Vice President for Translational Research and Chair of the Department of Urology at RPCI. “Knowing your statistics and risk factors and getting the recommended screenings help detect these cancers at their earliest stages, when patients have the most options available to them.”
On hand making special appearances at the event included Lee Smith and Brian Morman, Bills alumni Charley Ferguson, Lou Piccone and Ed Rutkowski, the Buffalo Jills and Billy Buffalo. Guests were also able to win free raffle prizes.
