The Bills are getting healthier by the week. Even though EJ Manuel is out for Sunday’s game and several after that, the rest of the players on Buffalo’s injured list are all probable for Sunday’s game.
That according to head coach Doug Marrone following Friday’s practice. Here’s a look at the probable players on Buffalo’s injury list.
QB EJ Manuel – knee
RB C.J. Spiller – ankle
DT Kyle Williams – illness/achilles
CB Ron Brooks – foot
WR Stevie Johnson – low back
LB Manny Lawson – hamstring
DE Mario Williams – hip
QB Thad Lewis – foot
The most encouraging of the probable players are Brooks and Spiller. Brooks hasn’t played since Week 1, but has a chance to be at least active for Sunday’s game. Spiller has been listed as questionable the last two games, but this week is probable, a sign that his ankle injury is improving despite playing on it each week.
That’s consistent with what Spiller told us on Wednesday this week.
“I think it’ll be something that’ll be healed up before the bye week,” said Spiller. “I don’t think it’s going to be something that’s going to linger into November. It’s getting better and better each week and as long as it continues to do that I’ll be fine. There are a couple of more hurdles that I have to get over, but I can definitely see the finish line of me getting back to 100 percent quickly.”
