Sunday was Stephon Gilmore’s third appearance of the season following wrist surgery. It was also his first without the club that rendered his left hand completely useless to the cornerback.
Gilmore wore just a wrist guard on Sunday against the Saints giving him use of his fingers on his left hand for the first time this season.
“It felt good, I actually felt like myself,” said Gilmore. “I got my hands on receivers so I felt good. It was the doctor’s choice to let me go without the club. Once he told me, I was happy and felt like myself.”
Gilmore, who had one tackle in the game and was not targeted much by Drew Brees, will probably have to wear the guard for a bit moving forward.
