Bills head coach Doug Marrone was asked on Wednesday about what kind of decision he might make concerning his quarterback situation if Thad Lewis only practices on Friday this week. With Lewis not practicing again here on Thursday, Marrone’s answer is an interesting one. Here’s what he said.
“I guess it would depend how he practiced on that Friday,” said Marrone. “Each player is different and that’s not discounting Jeff (Tuel) and Matt Flynn. With those guys putting the work in, those two guys were told to prepare like they’re going to start this game. And we’re preparing Thad mentally and then we’ve just got make sure physically he can play.”
So it sounds like even if Lewis manages to practice on Friday, how he performs in that practice will determine if he’s a legitimate option to start and play on Sunday.
