Bills RB C.J. Spiller did limp off the field a couple of times Sunday in the loss to the Chiefs as his high ankle sprain still isn’t full healed. But moving forward head coach Doug Marrone doesn’t believe Spiller’s ankle is any worse for wear.
“I talked to C.J. afterwards and he said he felt good,” said Marrone. “The one concern was when someone landed on it how he would feel. He said one of the big defensive tackles landed on it. I told him, ‘Heck if one of their defensive tackles landed on it you should be fine.’”
With 15 touches on Sunday, Spiller’s ankle saw the most work it’s had since he sustained the injury in Week 4 against Baltimore (23 touches).
“It was good,” said Spiller after Sunday’s game. “I hit it a couple of times, but it calmed down. But my cutting ability and exploding off it was good.”
