DAILY REPORT
– The Buffalo Bills were defeated by the Pittsburgh Steelers 23-10 at Heinz Field. The Bills fall to 3-7 on the year. The game featured the return of Bills rookie QB EJ Manuel to the starting role after he missed the past four games with a knee injury. Manuel completed 22 of his 39 pass attempts for 155 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Fellow rookie TE Chris Gragg led the receiving group for the day with four catches for 25 yards and a touchdown. The score marked the first career NFL touchdown for the rookie TE. On the ground, RB Fred Jackson had 55 yards and RB C.J. Spiller had 23 yards. With their season totals of 557 yards for Jackson and 501 yards for Spiller, the duo marked the 16th time in Bills history in which two players have rushed for 500+ yards in a season. On the defensive side of the ball, the Bills were led by LB Kiko Alonso, DE Jerry Hughes and S Jairus Byrd. Alonso had 10 tackles including one for a loss and his season total is now at 101 tackles. Hughes had recorded two sacks and four tackles on the day. His two sacks take his season total to 6.0, which is a new career high. Byrd pulled in his first interception of the season on the opening drive. It was the 19th interception of his career. For the Steelers, QB Ben Roethlisberger completed 18 of his 30 pass attempts for 204 yards, a touchdown and one interception. WR Antonio Brown led the way with six receptions for 104 yards and rookie RB Le’Veon Bell had 57 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

JerryLB Jerry Hughes tallied two sacks yesterday, raising his season total to 6.0—a new career high for the fourth year linebacker. For the first time since 2000, the Bills have four players with at least 5.0 sacks (M. Williams – 11, Hughes – 6, K. Williams – 5, Dareus – 5).

QUOTE OF THE DAY
HEAD COACH DOUG MARRONE, Buffalo Bills Head Coach
On moving forward after the loss:
“…This team, we’re going back home, and we have another big game. We just have to get them ready and go but at the end of the day (Pittsburgh) was able to make the plays, and they were able to beat us. We have to be able to do that to win. We have to find a way to make plays on offense. When we’ve done that, we’ve been in it. We’ve had a good chance to win. Some of those games we won. When we don’t have those types of situations where people are able to do that, it’s very difficult to win right now with the way we’re playing.”
