For the second straight week the Bills could be squaring off against a backup running back. Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew is trying to come back from a hamstring injury suffered late in their game last Thursday night, but won’t practice until late in the week.
According to multiple reports Jones-Drew will test his ailing hamstring on Friday. If he can’t go Jordan Todman, a first-year player, will step into the starting lineup. Todman has 138 rushing yards and two touchdowns for the Jags this season in his backup role.
Jones-Drew is averaging 3.5 yards per carry this season.
Buffalo faced a third-string running back in Bobby Rainey last Sunday. Rainey finished last week’s game with 127 yards on 22 carries including an 80-yard TD.
