Jags missing starters at practice

Posted by Chris Brown on December 12, 2013 – 2:32 pm

Nine starters for the Jaguars did not practice or were limited on Thursday. Knowing Jacksonville hasn’t played a game in a week raises some concerns that they might be without some key pieces Sunday against the Bills.

For the second straight day top WR Cecil Shorts did not practice due to a groin injury. RB Maurice Jones-Drew hasn’t practiced, though he’s expected to test his ailing hamstring Friday.

On defense four starters didn’t practice Thursday including rookie safety Johnathan Cyprien with a thigh injury and OLB Geno Hayes with knee injury. Cyprien and Hayes rank second and third on the team in tackles. Two starting offensive linemen were also limited with shoulder injuries. Here’s the full report.
