One of Buffalo’s three futures free agent signings is Arcade, NY native Randy Colling. Colling has spent most of his playing career as a defensive tackle, but the Bills have plans to make him a guard. It’s a position flip that Marrone has made work in the past.
Marrone is largely credited with turning an undrafted rookie defensive tackle by the name of Brandon Moore into a nine-year starter at guard for the New York Jets, which included an AFC Pro Bowl nod in 2011.
Buffalo’s head coach talked at the end of the season about adding competition to the offensive line, and often shuffled the back half of his offensive line depth chart during the 2013 season. Whether Colling can effectively make the switch from defensive tackle is the question.
