As we profiled on Buffalobills.com today, the addition of Jerry Hughes via trade proved to be one of the best moves not only for Buffalo, but perhaps in the entire NFL in 2013. And though Hughes was very happy to be able to contribute to the Bills’ defensive success in a way he had not been able to at the NFL level before, he was still far from satisfied.
That’s because Hughes wanted his productivity to result in more victories than losses.
“It was fun,” said Hughes of the season he had. “But it’s tough to say (I proved the Bills right) because it was just six wins and we were not getting ready for another game (at the end of the regular season). I think for the most part we’re all judged on wins and losses. Individual performances are good to look at in the offseason, but I definitely want to win football games. That’s what we’re here for. The individual stats are cool, but the ‘W’ at the end of the day that’s all that matters.”
