DAILY REPORT

– Arthur Moats, the Bills United Way Worldwide Spokesman, is locked into a neck-and-neck battle with the Seahawks’ Cliff Avril to accumulate volunteer pledges for the Bills’ United Way Team NFL campaign. A Moats’ victory would bring a $10,000 grant to the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County. In a contest that is separated by only a handful of pledges, your pledge truly does matter. Pledging is fast and easy and requires no monetary donation. To register and help grow Arthur’s tally, you don’t have to commit to a time or activity right away; providing only your name and email will complete your “pledge” and help put him back in the lead. Click here to pledge on behalf of Arthur.

– Help Bills DT Kyle Williams win a $3,000 equipment grant for his high school alma mater, Ruston High School in Ruston, LA! The fifth annual USA Football All-Fundamentals Team recognizes NFL players who employ proper technique, particularly when blocking and tackling, which fosters better on-field performance and inherent safety benefits. As the Buffalo Bills representative on the USA Football All-Fundamentals team, Williams trails only Richard Sherman and Luke Kuechly as the Defensive Team Captain, which would secure the additional grant for his high school. THIS DAY IN BILLS HISTORY

January 29, 1974 – BILLS SELECT GANT
The Bills selected Oklahoma State TE Reuben Gant with their No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft. Gant was the 18th player taken overall.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Jim Schwartz, Buffalo Bills Defensive Coordinator with BuffaloBills.com
On what fans can expect from the Bills’ defense:
“Anybody that comes out to a training camp practice might see some drills they haven’t seen for a long time. We recognize that this is a fundamental game and we’re going to be an aggressive defense and we’re going to attack. There’s not a whole lot of reading that goes on. We’re going to try to dictate to the offense that by game plan they’re going to have a very difficult time doing. We’re going to work very hard to take an opponent’s best player or best attribute out of the game.”
