Reed’s 1985 draft slot among WRs

Bills all-time leading receiver Andre Reed, who has been chosen for enshrinement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, was taken in the fourth round of the 1985 NFL draft and was the 13th wide receiver selected. Here are the 12 receivers taken ahead of him, which includes one other Hall of Famer in Jerry Rice.

First round
#10 – Al Toon (Jets)
#13 – Eddie Brown (Bengals)
#16 – Jerry Rice (49ers)
#23 – Jessie Hester (Raiders)

Second round
#31 – Vance Johnson (Broncos)
#42 – Chris Burkett (Bills)
#46 – Stacy Robinson (Giants)
#50 – Chuck Scott (Rams)

Third round
#78 – James Maness (Bears)
#79 – Tim Moffett (Raiders)
#81 – Danny Greene (Seahawks)

Fourth round
#85 – Buster Rhymes (Vikings)
#86 – Andre Reed (Bills)
