A shortened version of The John Murphy Show for Monday April 7. Enough time to touch on the news of the day, highlighted by the introductory press conference for newly acquired wide receiver, Mike Williams.
Williams touched on his relationship with Head Coach Doug Marrone, who coached Williams in his last year at Syracuse when the receiver left the team. He said there were never any hard feelings and that the past is the past. He’s now moving on and ready to catch “touchdowns” for the Buffalo Bills.
“This is a dream come true to come back home. I was really surprised by the trade but now that I’m back home, it feels great.”
Williams also talked about growing up a Bills fan, his relationship with former Bill Alex Van Pelt, and being drafted in the fourth round which left a chip on his shoulder.
Also on the show, a recap of the weekend events at the Buffalo Bills fieldhouse with Saturday’s Ralph Wilson Fan Celebration. Bills President/CEO Russ Brandon, former Bills QB/WR Ed Rutkowski, Hall of Famer Bruce Smith, and others all paid respects to the Hall of Fame Owner.
“His deep loyalty and appreciation for his adopted home town of Buffalo. His numerous acts of giving, always done without notoriety. He understood the Bills are the fabric of Western New York and it was often stated his relentless passion was only matched by our fans. Ralph Wilson in Buffalo was a perfect marriage” -Bills President/CEO Russ Brandon 4/5/14
