Legendary Bills wide receiver Andre Reed and the newest Bills wide reciever Sammy Watkins have already formed a bond.
“I met Sammy Watkins a couple of days ago,” said Reed. “I’ve seen him play here-and-there. I really like his style. Big, fast guy that can make people miss. He’s a tough guy.”
The respect is mutual. Watkins said growing up as a Bills fan, he latched onto Reed as a player to look up to.
“That’s the guy I watched all the time and now he’s a future Hall of Famer,” said Watkins. “Actually I’m in New York, so I met him a couple times. He was at a couple events with me and told me to keep doing what I’ve been doing and one day I could be in his position.”
“Really I just explained to him this process and how exciting it is for him, and that then he really has to let that go and it’s time to play football,” said Reed. “The guys who stay in the league make the transition a little better.”
