He was Braxton Miller’s backup at Ohio State, so just who is Bills rookie minicamp tryout QB Kenny Guiton?
Guiton appeared in 22 games in his college career as a Buckeye. In his eight appearances in 2013 Guiton completed almost 69 percent of his passes (75-109) with 14 touchdowns and just two interceptions. He also ran for five touchdowns last season.
Most of his passing yards last season came in games against San Diego State, at Cal and against Florida A&M. In fact he started on the road against Cal for an injured Miller, and was 21-32 passing for 276 yards and threw four touchdowns in a 52-34 barn burner victory. His first two touchdown passes went for 90 and 47 yards in that game both to Devin Smith. Guiton also had 14 carries for 92 yards working the read option. He did miss on some other deep pass attempts and had a fumble in the game, but here’s a look as his plays from that game.
At the Ohio State pro day Guiton (6-2 204) ran a 4.78 40-time, had a 31-inch vertical and broad jumped 9-9. His passing delivery is not long, which is good, and he has the arm strength to deliver long passes on a line.
